Waterfront Park is one of Charleston’s most popular destinations for locals and visitors alike. There are two fountains perfect to play in on a hot day. Directly on the Charleston Harbor. Enjoy the shaded swings on the pier day or night to take advantage of a breeze. There are picnic benches, a huge lawn to play frisbee, plenty of benches in the shade and facing the water, and Charleston’s famed Pineapple Fountain.

From the pier at Waterfront Park, you can see the Ravenel Bridge, the USS Yorktown, Castle Pinckney, and Fort Sumter.

There are even Echo Stones. You might not notice them as they are just large round architecture pieces. But jump on and stand right in the center and speak. You may have to move around a bit to find the right spot, depending on the wind.

Location: 1 Vendue Range, Charleston, SC 29401

Local tip: Grab a snack or do some shopping on Vendue Range and East Bay Street. There are some public restrooms at the North Entrance but they are not very obvious. They are at 1 Vendue Range, directly across the street from the Indigo Home Store. Remember that the marshes smell at low tide so don’t be surprised by the smell.
