The First Friday ArtWalk is put on the by Charleston Gallery Association every March, May, October, and December. From 5-8pm, more than 30 galleries in the French Quarter, in downtown Charleston, open their doors for the evening. They often have wine and light refreshments as well. Enjoy a beautiful night strolling through breathtaking downtown neighborhoods and visiting beautiful art galleries. The French Quarter is small neighborhood downtown, with Broad Street, Meeting Street, East Bay Street, and South Market Street acting as perimeters. The French Huguenot Church is roughly in the center. Check out the gallery listing to see participating galleries.

Turn left on Queen Street and you’ll run into several galleries, including Corrigan Gallery and Stevenson & Co.


Turn right on Queen Street and you’ll find in Anglin Smith and Horton Hayes art galleries.


Local tip: Grab dinner before or after on Broad Street, Blind Tiger for casual dining or Oak Steakhouse or Sorelle for fine dining. While kids are not prohibited, there is nowhere for kids to run and play.
